Garmin x UNBROKEN – The perfect Match for your Training

With the Garmin integration, UNBROKEN takes your training to the next level. Whether you want to start your workout plan directly on your Garmin watch, incorporate your health data into your training, or automatically merge activities recorded from different sources—everything now works seamlessly.

In this article, we’ll walk you through how to connect Garmin and which features are available to you from day one. 

1. Connecting Garmin with UNBROKEN

You can connect Garmin in two ways:

Via the Settings Menu

Go to:
Profile → Settings → Connect Garmin

Log in with your Garmin account—done.

Directly After Login

After signing in, a one-time pop-up will appear offering you the option to connect Garmin. If you connect it there, you won’t need to adjust anything in the settings later.

2. Automatically Merging Activities

Many athletes record their workouts twice—for example, simultaneously with a Garmin watch and the UNBROKEN app. To avoid duplicates and ensure you benefit from all available metrics, UNBROKEN automatically merges such activities.

How does it work?

When uploading an activity, UNBROKEN checks:

  • Is there another activity with the same start time (within your defined time offset)?
  • Does it have the same activity type (e.g., Running, Strength Training)?
  • Was it possibly uploaded by a third-party provider (such as Garmin)?

If yes, both activities are merged into one premium activity—containing all available data such as:

  • Heart rate
  • Speed & pace
  • Intensity minutes
  • GPS route
  • Reps or set data (if available)

3. Sending Training Plans to Garmin

UNBROKEN can send your training plans directly to Garmin Connect—allowing you to execute your workouts easily on your Garmin watch.

There are two ways training plans can be transferred:

a) Marking a training plan as a favorite

If you add a plan to your favorites in UNBROKEN, it will automatically be synced to Garmin Connect—provided your Garmin connection is active.

In Garmin Connect, you can then:

  • assign the plan to one or multiple devices
  • start it directly on your watch
  • further edit it in Garmin Connect

b) Scheduling a workout in the calendar (UNBROKEN PRO)

This feature is exclusive to PRO users.

When you schedule a workout in your UB calendar, it is automatically:

  1. synced to Garmin Connect
  2. added to your Garmin calendar
  3. synced to your watch upon the next device synchronization

Your watch will then automatically suggest the workout—either in the calendar view or when starting the corresponding activity (e.g., “Next running session available”).

4. Garmin Activities Automatically Sync to UNBROKEN

Any activity recorded on your Garmin device is automatically transmitted to UNBROKEN—no manual import required.

What gets synced:

  • Activity type
  • Distance, duration, pace
  • Heart rate & zones
  • Indoor workouts like strength training
  • GPS tracks (if available)
  • Intensity minutes
  • Calories
  • and more

This ensures your UNBROKEN profile stays up-to-date and your statistics remain complete.

5. Health Status & Wellness Data for Smarter Recommendations

In addition to workouts, UNBROKEN also syncs health and wellness data from Garmin, including:

  • Stress level
  • Daily steps
  • Sleep score & sleep data
  • Recovery & load metrics

This allows us to give you better and more personalized recommendations such as:

  • optimal rest days
  • training intensity based on recovery
  • personalized workout suggestions
  • smarter weekly planning
