Hang Power Clean and Jerk (Dumbbell)

The Hang Power Clean and Jerk with dumbbells is a dynamic compound exercise that combines elements of weightlifting to develop power, coordination, and full-body strength. It targets the legs, hips, core, shoulders, and arms, making it effective for enhancing athletic performance.

  1. Stand with feet shoulder-width apart, holding a dumbbell in each hand at thigh level.

  2. Maintain a slight bend in your knees and a straight back.

  3. Bend at the hips to lower the dumbbells just above your knees.

  4. Explosively extend your hips and knees, shrugging your shoulders to pull the dumbbells upwards.

  5. As the dumbbells rise, quickly drop under them, catching the dumbbells at shoulder height in a slight squat position.

  6. Stand up to complete the clean phase.

  7. From the clean position, perform a slight dip by bending your knees.

  8. Explosively extend your legs and press the dumbbells overhead, splitting your legs into a lunge position (one foot forward, one foot back) to help catch the weight.

  9. Stand up straight, bringing your feet back together with the dumbbells overhead.

  10. Lower the dumbbells back to your shoulders, then to the hang position to prepare for the next repetition.
