Standing Side Stretch

The Standing Side Stretch is a simple yet effective exercise for stretching and relieving tension in the muscles along the sides of your body, particularly the obliques and intercostal muscles.

  1. Begin by standing up straight with your feet hip-width apart.

  2. Extend your arms overhead and interlock your fingers with your palms facing upward.

  3. Take a deep breath in to lengthen your spine.

  4. Exhale and slowly lean to one side, keeping your upper body in a straight line. Imagine reaching up and over as you create a gentle arc with your body.

  5. Feeling a gentle stretch along the side of your torso.

  6. Inhale as you return to the upright position.
