The Box Jump is a plyometric exercise that targets the legs, including the quadriceps, hamstrings, glutes, and calves. It's excellent for building explosive power, improving coordination, and increasing cardiovascular fitness.
Position a sturdy box or platform in front of you. The height should be challenging but safe, allowing for a comfortable jump.
Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, a short distance away from the box.
Bend your knees slightly and swing your arms back to prepare for the jump.
Explosively jump onto the box by extending your hips, knees, and ankles while swinging your arms forward.
Aim to land softly with both feet fully on the box, bending your knees to absorb the impact.
Pause briefly on top of the box in a stable, controlled stance.
Step back down to the starting position one foot at a time, or jump back down if you're experienced and it's safe to do so.
