Row - Upright Shoulder Grip (Barbell)

The Barbell Shoulder Grip Upright Row is a strength exercise primarily focusing on the shoulder muscles. Note: Ensure the movement is controlled and smooth, avoiding any swinging or jerky movements. Focus on activating the shoulder muscles throughout the entire movement. It is important to perform the exercise with an appropriate weight and correct technique to prevent injuries and achieve optimal results.

  1. Starting position: Stand upright with your feet about shoulder-width apart and hold a barbell with a shoulder grip (approximately hip-width grip) in front of you. Your arms should be extended, and the barbell should hang in front of your thighs.

  2. Pulling movement: Lift the barbell with elbows pointing outward and upward. Pull the bar close to your body up to your collarbone. Your elbows should be higher than your hands and approximately at shoulder height.

  3. Hold position: Briefly hold the position at the top while tensing your shoulder muscles.

  4. Return movement: Lower the barbell back to the starting position in a controlled manner while stabilizing your shoulders.

  5. Repetitions: Perform the desired number of repetitions. Ensure to choose an appropriate weight load to maintain proper form and good control throughout the movement.
