Barbell Shrug is a strength exercise that mainly trains the muscles in the trapezius.
Start by holding a barbell with a grip about shoulder-width apart. Stand upright, feet shoulder-width apart, and arms should hang straight down.
Now lift your shoulders upwards, trying to bring your shoulders to your ears. Make sure to keep your back straight and your arms should continue to hang straight down.
Hold the position briefly and then slowly lower your shoulders back down to return to the starting position.
